Jade Purple Brown is a New York–based artist celebrating joy, confidence, and bold self-expression. Her vibrant portraits of Black women feel alive and fully themselves, often in fashion-forward looks and electric poses that invite viewers to embrace their own authenticity.

Combining gouache, collage, and digital techniques, she creates layered, dimensional works that explore texture, movement, and visual rhythm. Her immersive worlds highlight individuality, personal power, and self-acceptance.

While her work radiates bright, bold energy, JPB is also drawn to the inner work behind that confidence. She reflects on how Black women shape their own sense of beauty and belonging in a world that doesn’t always affirm it. Her newer pieces draw from ancestral memory, personal style, and the practice of claiming identity, reflecting how we create our own sense of self.
